Not always a fitness person, most of my life I struggled with weight. Being a mom of three children, my health was always put on the back burner. I turned things around a couple of years ago and never looked back. I can truly say that “I’ve been there” and it’s never too late to start.

Growing up playing sports teaches you a lot of things; teamwork, respect, dedication, leadership, competitiveness, discipline. But it can inadvertently teach you to care more about your own success than the team’s. 

It took becoming a Coach at TFW Brooklyn and immersing myself in the culture to realize that it’s all about playing for the name on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back. My intention is to make everyone who walks through our doors feel like they’re on a team here, even — and especially — if they’ve never been part of a team before.

Before joining the TFW Brooklyn team, I coached HIIT and Strength Training classes for over 6 years at a gym in my hometown of Rockaway Beach, NY. The opportunity to become a coach came at a time in my life when I feel like I could appreciate it most. I believe that’s why I find so much joy in coaching. The hard work and dedication I see in my clients pushes me to be even better. I’m grateful for the fact that I am able to help others through physical fitness and I’m happy to have the chance to share, with the members of TFW, what I have to offer.

Kevin Duffy


Kevin Duffy, EdD, MS, ATC, CSCS, CES, PES has over 25 years of experience in the sports performance, athletic training & exercise science field. Beginning in the mid-90s, Kevin worked as a personal trainer at health clubs in Brooklyn such as Bally’s Jack LaLane & Golds Gym. Kevin then went into health club management, opening up locations for Crunch Fitness throughout NYC, California, Florida & Chicago. In 2000, Kevin opened the first corporate location for Equinox Fitness, serving as the personal training manager and Tier III Personal Trainer. During this time, Kevin completed his undergraduate education in Physical Education & Exercise Science from Brooklyn College. 

Through Fast Forward NYC, Kevin has worked with young athletes of all ages & skill levels, focusing on making each athlete the best version of themselves. Kevin believes each person is an athlete in their own game, and he is prepared to help them win the day! Kevin believes healthy children become healthy adults that have healthy children, breaking the cycle of obesity and other chronic yet preventable conditions. It is with this vision that Kevin, a Marine Park resident of over 20 years, decided to make a difference in the community and work with Training for Warriors. Together, we run a Warriors in Training program for local young athletes as well as sports specific training programs utilizing Kevin’s expertise in performance enhancement and injury prevention to make each athlete the best version of themselves, successfully fail and win the day!
